Success for Staffordshire Ladies in the Winter County Cup

The ladies winter county cup was held at our home venue of Tipton this year. It was a great weekend with a lot of high quality tennis. We got off to a rocky start losing to a strong East of Scotland team 6-3 on day 1. However, we came back fighting on day 2 against North of Scotland. With the match tied at 3-3 after the singles, we came out on top after winning 2 nerve-wracking final set tie-breaks in the doubles, resulting in a crucial 5-4 victory for Staffs. On day 3, we were able to secure another win against Northamptonshire 5-3, securing 2nd place in the group.
